Job Description

UNICEF Australia is offering a part time (2 days per week) permanent position, built around the diversity of our team and their needs. A competitive salary commensurate with the not for profit sector is offered together with a broad range of wellbeing benefits. 

 

What we are looking for  

 UNICEF Australia is looking for a responsible and reliable counting house coordinator for the collection and processing of donations made through the UNICEF Australia Change for Good Program (CFG), this position reports into the finance team and will contribute to the coordination and smooth operation of the UA Counting House. The position will include some manual lifting and handling tasks, so the successful applicant should possess a suitable level of physical fitness.  

This role requires working hours from 05:00 to 13:00 between Monday to Wednesday to suit airport operational needs, and Qantas security clearance, therefore applicants must be Australian citizens in order to be eligible. 

 

Your day will include 

  1. Donation Collection Support 
    Assist in collecting donations received through the Change for Good (CFG) Program. 

  1. Currency Processing 
    Help count and process coins and notes (both domestic and foreign) at the Counting House (Mascot) 

  1.  Volunteer Supervision 
    Oversee and support CFG volunteers in completing assigned tasks at the Counting House. 

  1.  Inventory and Distribution Assistance 
    Support the CH Manager in monitoring and distributing promotional materials and consumables at the Counting House and airports nationwide. 

  1. Donation Pickup 
    Collect donation envelopes from designated locations around Sydney Airport. 

  1. Accounting and Reporting Support 
    Assist in recording and reporting donation totals accurately. 

  1. Stakeholder Liaison 
    Work with Qantas staff and contractors to facilitate the collection and transfer of CFG donations. 

  1.  Policy Compliance 
    Adhere to UNICEF Australia's CFG Policies and Procedures Manual. 

  1. Safety and Security Compliance 
    Follow UNICEF Work Health & Safety (WH&S) policies and Qantas Freight Terminal Safety and Security Regulations. 

  1. General Support Duties 
    Perform other tasks as directed to support the overall operation. 

 

We would like you to have the following skills and experience  

  • Experience manual handling in a warehouse setting and complying with WHS safety and operating procedures. 

  • Effective organisational and time management skills to manage competing work priorities  

  • Effective communication skills 

  • Knowledge and understanding of corporate fundraising programs such as Change for Good  

  • Demonstrated success in accounting and reporting off site finances  

  • Demonstrated reliability in working in small off site office  

  • Current Australian drivers licence 

  • Moderate PC skills – Microsoft Outlook for emails, Word, Excel, and Teams for meetings 

  • A passionate and energetic team member with a genuine interest in working in the international aid and development sector
