Job Description

Every day our teams are on the ground in 190 countries working with local partners to deliver lifesaving help and create lasting change. From vaccinating children in war zones to providing early childhood education access in Indigenous communities, donations help us to protect every child, no matter what. 

 

We are offering a 10 weeks internship position, working 2-3 days per week (120-240 hours total) in a flexible environment, built around the diversity of our team and their needs.  Preference for Wednesday/Thursday from March 2026

What we are looking for  

A proactive and curious student with a willingness to learn and contribute to our Domestic Programs Team - a passionate and purpose-driven team dedicated to creating positive change for children and young people in Australia. As part of the Australian Programs team, you’ll help develop content and support events.

 

Your day will include 

  • Consolidating images of events using SharePoint and tracking merchandise across events, including creating a functional calendar and tracker  

  • Working with the team to understand merchandise needs for 2026  

  • Developing case studies and stories from event information and interview transcripts  

  • Collating information and reviewing resources for various initiatives 

  • Supporting youth and school engagement programs, including preparing certificates, emails, graphics, and assisting with outreach and sign-ups  

  • Drafting briefing notes for facilitators and partners  

  • Assisting in event preparation, set-up, facilitation, and participation as required 

We would like you to have the following skills and experience 

  • Currently undertaking a Communication or related degree  

  • Internship to be credited towards your degree requirements 

  • Strong written communication skills, including preparing articles, blogs, or reports  

  • Experience in event administration (desirable) 

  • Ability to use Canva  

  • Interest in the humanitarian sector and children’s rights  

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
