Job Description

What we are looking for 

We’re seeking a Financial Analyst with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling insights. As a trusted collaborative business partner, you will strengthen organisational decision-making and contribute to our strategic future. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Planning & Performance, you’ll play an essential role in financial planning, analysis and business partnering that supports UNICEF Australia’s mission for children.

 

Your day will include

  • Assist the Head of Corporate Planning & Performance and CFO in the business planning cycle, development and management of annual budget and financial projections, and in monitoring performance against organisational KPIs.
  • Completion of detailed financial modelling and analysis. 
  • Maintain rolling financial forecasts with budget managers to monitor performance and identify risks and opportunities, in addition to develop and maintain financial reports within our core financial system, Sage Intacct.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly financial reporting packs for Executive and Senior Leadership teams incorporating financial statements and key performance indicators.  
  • Prepare quarterly financial reporting to UNICEF (Global); and monitor associated grant funding. 
  • Work closely with the Technology team to facilitate accurate and efficient data transfer from Salesforce to Sage Intact, in addition to performing weekly CRM transaction transfers to ensure data integrity and completeness. 
  • Collaborate closely with UNICEF Australia’s fundraising teams to provide financial guidance and build financial acumen for data-driven decision making, and also work cross-functionally with the broader finance team to ensure timely delivery of management reporting. 
  • Assist with ad hoc external financial reporting.

 

We would like you to have the following skills and experience
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or other relevant area of study, or equivalent working experience.
  • Qualified accountant with ongoing professional membership preferred.
  • A minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis, including proficiency in financial modelling, variance analysis, and forecasting techniques. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, identify trends and draw meaningful insights to support decision making. 
  • Strong Presentation and communication skills.
  • Advanced competency in Excel. 
  • Experience in using medium sized ERP/CRM/BI solutions with Sage Intacct / Salesforce and CRM Analytics desired. 
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships across diverse teams.
