About the Australia Pacific Youth Climate Dialogue
The Australia Pacific Youth Climate Dialogue (APYCD) is a unique opportunity for more than 60 young people aged 18–29 to come together in Nadi, Fiji from 1–3 October 2026 to collaborate, learn and contribute to regional climate conversations.
Bringing together young leaders from across Australia and the Pacific, the Dialogue will create a platform for participants to share experiences, explore climate solutions, strengthen leadership and advocacy skills, and work together on the climate issues that matter most to children and young people.
Through this youth-led Dialogue, participants will help shape collective priorities and recommendations that will contribute to regional and international climate discussions in the lead up to COP31 and beyond.
What we seeking young people who:
- Are aged 18–29 at the time of the Dialogue.
- Are residents of Australia or New Zealand.
- Are passionate about climate action, environmental sustainability or creating positive change in their communities.
- Bring diverse lived experiences, perspectives and ideas.
- Are interested in learning from and collaborating with other young people from across the region.
- Are available to attend the Dialogue in person in Nadi, Fiji, from 1–3 October 2026.
- Hold a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of travel or are able to obtain one prior to travel.
- Are able to communicate and understand English (or sign language, with interpretation support available) to actively participate in discussions and group activities.
Your participation will include
- Sharing your perspectives, experiences and recommendations on climate action.
- Contributing to youth-led discussions that will help inform climate conversations ahead of COP31.
- Collaborating with a diverse group of young people from across Australia and the Pacific.
- Building leadership, advocacy and networking skills.
- Connecting with youth leaders, organisations, partners and stakeholders working to advance climate action with and for children and young people.
What selected participants will receive
- Fully funded travel to and from Nadi, Fiji.
- Accommodation and meals during the Dialogue.
- Opportunities to develop leadership and advocacy skills.
- Access to a regional network of young climate leaders and changemakers.
- A chance to influence climate conversations impacting children and young people across the region.
- This is NOT a paid opportunity.

Selected participants will be required to:
- Hold a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of travel.
- Obtain their own travel insurance, including medical coverage.
- Comply with safeguarding requirements, including signing UNICEF Australia’s Code of Conduct and providing evidence of a Volunteer Working With Children Check
- Be able to travel in these dates and be part of a pre-event briefing
- Agree that your information may be shared with authorised organisers for participant selection and event administration.
