We are seeking a consultant to undertake an independent Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) Periodic Review across UNICEF Australia’s International Programs. This consultancy will assess progress across the current strategy period (January 2021 – June 2026) and provide recommendations to inform programming and approaches during Strategy 2030.
This is a consultancy engagement of approximately 25 days over a three-month period with flexibility in how days are scheduled. The engagement is expected to be completed by 30 September.
What we are looking for
An experienced consultant (or consultancy team) to lead an independent review of GEDSI integration across UNICEF Australia’s International Programs and strengthen organisational learning and capacity.
Your day will include
- Leading the GEDSI Periodic Review, including design and implementation of methodology
- Conducting desk reviews of tools and program documentation
- Facilitating interviews and/or reflection sessions with internal and external stakeholders
- Assessing GEDSI integration across program design, implementation and monitoring processes
- Reviewing the implementation of DEI Policy and Procedures in practice
- Developing the Periodic Review Report with clear, prioritised and actionable recommendations, and delivering findings to support learning
We would like you to have the following skills and experience
- Strong technical expertise in gender equality and disability inclusion
- Experience conducting organisational or programmatic reviews
- Experience in participatory facilitation and capacity building
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Ability to provide an objective and independent assessment
- Understanding of UNICEF or UN system programming (desirable)
